Disney switched Release Dates

New dates have been set for 4 titles coming from Walt Disney Motion Pictures.

  • DreamWorks’ Ghost in the Shell, to be distributed by Touchstone Pictures, will arrive on April 14, 2017.
  • The non-musical remake of Pete’s Dragon will appear on August 12, 2016
  • The mostly CG The Jungle Book has moved to April 15, 2016
  • The Finest Hours moves earlier to October 9, 2015.

Media Releases for January 13/14

This week, a number of releases through Amazon.com (for which The Completist Geek receives a small referral fee). The most exciting is the 4-CD Fantasia soundtrack. It includes the original 1940 soundtrack (remastered, ‘natch!) as well as the 1984 re-recording under the direction of Disney musical mastermind Irwin Kostal. As well, new to public release (unless you found them at Wal-Mart before Christmas) are the previously-only-available-at-Disney-Movie-Club releases of Tale SpinGoof TroopGargoylesDuckTales: The Movie – Treasure of the Lost Lamp, & The Incredible Journey. Add some Disney Infinity 2.0 power discs and a huge handful of Disney-era Miramax movies, and it’s an excellent week for Disney releases. See them all after the link.
